BEFORE: M. Taylor, Chairman; J.D.V. Newlands, Deputy Chairman; and D.B. Kilpatrick, Commissioner CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY WHEREAS Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. ("PNG") included among the documents associated with its December 21, 1984 Application to amend its Schedule of Rates reference to proposed 1985 Gas Plant Additions specifically, a spare turbine ($853,000.) and a spare rotating element ($130,000.), for the total value of $983,000. [see Volume 1, Tab 3, Schedule 2(a)]; and WHEREAS PN~ subsequently submitted during the public hearing Exhibit 8, Schedule A noting a reduction in the capital costs from $983,000. to $945,000., noting that purchase of the units prior to July 1, 1985 would avoid a further cost of $50,000.; and WHEREAS the Commission has considered the matter and is satisfied that approval of the purchase of the units prior to July 1, 1985 is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission hereby orders Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. as follows: 1. PNG is granted a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity under Section 51 of the Utilities Commission Act for the purchase prior to July 1, 1985 and subsequent placement of a turbine and rotating element to a value of approximately $945,000.
