Hydro") applied April 7, 1987 for approval in principle by the Commission permitting B.C. Hydro establish a "Gas Rate Stability Deferral Account" the purpose of which is to minimize random increases and decreases in Gas Tariff Rate Schedules~ and WHEREAS the Commission has considered the Application. NOW THEREFORE the Commission hereby orders British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority as follows: 1. The April 7, 1987 Application is denied at this time but will be considered at the public hearing of your Revenue Requirements Application. 2. B.C. Hydro is to amend its Gas Tariff Rate Schedules effective May 1, 1987 to reflect an appropriate reduction in gas customer rates resulting from the reduction effective April 1, 1987 of Demand Charges from Westcoast Transmission Company, Limited ("Westcoast") . 3. B.C. Hydro is to immediately establish a Deferral Account for the purpose of recording, for the period April 1 through 30, 1987, the effect of the reduction in Demand Charges referred to in clause 2 above. . .. /2 FOURTH FLOOR. 800 SM'THE ST"lEET. 4. In view of the anticipated July 1, 1987 filing by B.C. Hydro of its Revenue Requirements Application the Commission is satisfied that the required adjustments to B.C. Hydro's gas customer accounts together with disposition of the Deferral Account may be appropriately determined during the public hearing of the Application. 5. An appropriate notice of explanation is to accompany all customer bills containing the new gas rates.
