Limited ("Northland") applied March 13, 1987 pursuant to Section 59 of the utilities Commission Act ("the Act") for Commission approval of the disposition of certain of its property; and WHEREAS the property to be disposed of by sale to Westcoast Transmission Company, Limited ("Westcoast") comprises a gas processing plant, transmission pipeline and associated equipment utilized by Northland in the provision of natural gas service to the Tumbler Ridge area: and WHEREAS the proposed terms of the sale by Northland to Westcoast are contained in a letter agreement dated March 9, 1987, and agreed and consented to by Westcoast on March II, 1987; and WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Application and is satisfied that the disposition of the specified property is in the public interest.
