McIntyre, Chairman; J.D. V. Newlands, Deputy Chairman; D.B. Kilpatrick, Commissioner; and N. Martin, Commissioner ORDER WHEREAS Central Heat Distribution Limited ("Central Heat") applied November 26, 1987 for an average 3.7% increase to the Basic Steam Tariff only, to become effective January 1, 1988; and WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Application. NOW THEREFORE the Commission hereby orders Central Heat Distribution Limited as follows: 1. Approval is granted effective January 1, interim average 3.7% increase to the Basic Steam Tariff only, with such interim increase to be subject to refund with interest calculated at the average prime rate of interest of the principal bank with which Central Heat conducts its business. 2. A public hearing of the Application by Central Heat will be held at the Commission Hearing Room, 4th Floor, 800 Smithe Street, Vancouver, B.C. commencing at 9:00 a.m. local time, Tuesday, February 9, 1988. 3. Central Heat will arrange to deliver to each of its customers not later than Wednesday, January 6, 1988 a copy of the Notice of Public Hearing, as per attached copy. 4. Interested persons intending to be present and participate in the public hearing should give notice of intention to do so to the Commission Secretary, and to the Applicant, to be received not later than Friday, January 29, 1988. Such notice should state the nature of your interest in the proceeding. 6. Interested persons intending to file a written submission should provide one copy to the Commission Secretary, and one copy to the Applicant, to be received not later than Friday, January 29, 1988. The Commission by Order No. G-89-87 authorized the requested interim increase subject to refund with appropriate interest if not verified at a public hearing. THE PUBLIC HEARING The Commission has set down the Application for public hearing commencing at 9:00 a.m., local time, Tuesday, February 9, 1988 at the Commission Hearing Room, 4th Floor, 800 Smithe Street, Vancouver, B.C. PUBLIC INSPECTION OF THE APPLICATION The Application and supporting material are available for inspection at the office of Central Heat Distribution Limited, 720 Beatty Street, Vancouver, B.C. A copy of the Application and supporting material is also available for inspection at the office of the British Columbia Utilities Commission, 4th Floor, 800 Smithe Street, Vancouver, B.C. INTER VENTIONS Any person intending to attend the hearing to give evidence or cross-examine witnesses should provide written notice to be received not later than Friday, January 29, 1988, to the Commission Secretary, and to the Applicant. The notice should include a brief statement of the nature of their interest in the proceeding. SUBMISSIONS BY INTERESTED PERSONS Any person intending to file a written submIssion should ensure that it is received not later than Friday, January 29, 1988, one copy to the Commission Secretary, and to the Applicant.
