BRITISH COLUMBIA UTILITIES CO~MISSION IN THE MATTER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60, as amended and IN THE MATTER OF an Application by Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. REFORE: John G. McIntyre, ) Chairman; ) D.B. Kilpatrick~ ) January 19, 1988 Commissioner: and ) N. Martin, ) Commissioner ) ORDER WHEREAS Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. ("PNG") applied January Il, 1988 pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act (lithe Act") to amend its Gas Tariff Rate Schedules covering rates charged for natural gas service effective January 1, 1988; and WHEREAS the tariff amendments proposed by PNG result from the National Energy Board ("NEB") Reasons for Decision RH-2-87 concerning the Westcoast Transmission Company, Limited ("Westcoast") Rate Application dated December 19, 1986 for tolls effective January 1, 1988 and from changes in the Gas Commodity Charges, as contained in the November 1, 1982 Gas Sales i\greement between PNG and Westcoast, which became effective November 1, J987; and WHEREAS the tariff amendments effective January 1 and April 1, 1987 which received interim approval by Commission Order No. G-3-87 and G-16-87 respectively, and which req.uire a recalculation of the 1987 calendar year tolls by Westcoast in accordance with NEB Decision RH-2-87 resulting in the recalculation of the tariffs by PNG for the calendar year 1987, which must be approved by the Commission, and refunds made by PNG, if required, during the !vbrch 1988 billing cycles; and WHERE/\S PNG's Application reflects \Vestcoast tolls determined on a gross basis effective January 1, 1988: and WHEREAS PNG requires the implementation of five new Gas Tariff Rate Schedules as follows: Schedule 2/\ which is a high volume commercial firm USN, 4A which is a high volume commercial interruptible user, 5/\, 5B and 5C which are small industrial users with progressivelv higher volumes than those for the standard Rate Schedule 5: and ... /2
2 ORDER NUMBER G-9-88 WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting material, and finds that the filing of amendments to the filed Gas Tariff Rate Schedules is necessary in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission hereby orders Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. as follows: 1.
