V. Newlands, Deputy Chairman; and N. Martin, October 30, 1989 Commissioner o R D E R WHEREAS Section 85,3 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), requires that Energy Supply Contracts ("Contracts") between producers and consumers, be filed with the Commission for approval: and WHEREAS Inland Natural Gas Marketing Ltd. has filed with the Commission a natural gas supply contract dated October 12, 1989 between British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C. Hydro") and its supplier -Mobil Oil Canada, Ltd. ("Mobil"), for the period commencing November I. 1989 to November I, 1990 inclusive under Rules - Section 1.2.3; and WHEREAS B.C. Hydro has explained to the Commission's sa tis faction the need for gas for a one year term in order to provide for voltage control using the Burrard Thermal facilities; and WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Contract and supporting material and is satisfied that it is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 85.3 of the Act the Commission approves and accepts for filing the Energy Supply Contract between B.C. Hydro and Mobil dated October 12, 1989 which is designated as Energy Supply contract, NGSC No. 14.
