Swanson, Q.c., Commissioner o R D E R WHEREAS The Corporation of the City of Nelson (lithe City") applied December 8, 1988 for Commission approval to rates contained in The Nelson Electrical Utility Regulatory Amendment By-Law No. 2321, 1988 (lIthe By-Lawfl) applicable to electric service rendered by the City in its service area; and WHEREAS the amendments specified permit the City to increase all customer rates by 6.0% effective January I, 1989 on an interim basis; and WHEREAS the By-Law approved by Commission Decision and Order No. G-76-83 dated October 24, 1983;and WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting material and finds that the proposed interim increase in electric service rates is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE Corporation of the City of Nelson as follows: 1. The Commission accepts for filing effective January 1, 1989, The Nelson Amendment By-Law general rate increase of 6.0% over existing rates, on an interim basis, with the interim increase subject to refund with interest calculated at the average prime rate of the bank with which the City conducts its business and subject to confirmation of the \Vest Kootenay Power Ltd. general interim rate increase effective January I, 1989.
