("the Act") requires that Energy Supply Contracts ("Contracts") between producers and consumers, be filed with the Commission for approval; and WHEREAS on August 18, 1988 the Commission issued Rules for the filing of such Contracts; and WHEREAS Inland Natural Gas Marketing Ltd. (tlINGM") has applied by letter November 1, 1989 for a blanket approval to purchase gas on the "spot" market on behalf of B.C. Hydro for use in its Burrard Thermal Generating Plant for the period up to April 30, 1990; and WHEREAS B.C. November 7, 1989 to explain that this gas is not required to meet the needs of firm domestic customers, but is an incremental interruptible supply to augment existing interruptible sales gas purchased from BC Gas and that such gas is needed to help improve the hydro energy storage situation, not for capacity generation; and WHEREAS THE Rules Section 1.1.5 permit customers who have satisfied Commission requirements for long term security to make special arrangements for incremental "spot" purchases; and SIXTH FLOOR, 900 HOWE STREET. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 85.3 of the Act, the Commission hereby orders as follows: 1. B.C. Hydro is hereby granted blanket approval for its purchase of gas on the "spot" market for the period up to April 30, 1990. 2. B.C. Hydro is to file a summary of such purchases on a monthly basis. 3.
