R ITISH COLUMBIA UTILI IN THE MA TTER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60, as amended and IN THE MATTER OF Commission Order No. G-43-89 BEFORE: J.G. Mcintyre, Chairman; J.D.V. Newlands, Deputy Chairman; N. Martin, Commissioner; and W.M. Swanson, Q.C., Commissioner o R D E R WHEREAS Commission provincially regula ted gas utilities to develop and issue a generic brochure on the safety of residential gas appliances to be sent to customers in the Fall of 1989; and WHEREAS BC Gas Inc. (IIBC Gas") wrote to the Commission on September 18, and 22, 1989 requesting that more time be provided to develop inspection/maintenance programs with industry trade groups prior to a general distribution of the brochure; and WHEREAS the Commission concerning the intent of clause 3 of the above-noted Order; and WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed these matters and has determined that an amendment to Order No. G-43-89 is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 28 of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission hereby orders as follows: I. Clause 2 of Order No. G-43-89 is amended to read as follows: "The brochure should be of a generic nature and be sent to customers periodically along with normal utility customer billings.
