BEFORE: J.G. McIntyre, Chairman; N. Martin, Commissioner; and W.M. Swanson, Q.C., Commissioner o R D E R WHEREAS ICG Utilities (British Columbia) Ltd. ("ICG") applied August 16, 1990 to the Commission for approval of a Sales Rebate Program (lithe Program") for residential customers to be served from the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline; and WHEREAS the Program is to encourage the connection of new gas load be tween September 1, 1990 and the availability of natural gas in the service area; and WHEREAS the Program will be in addition to the Provincial Government's CLEAN CHOICE Conversion Grant Program; and WHEREAS the ICG Program consists of a rebate applied to the total consumption of gas on the basis of $2.00 per GJ for conversion or installation of a natural gas furnace, $1.00 per GJ for installation of a gas-fired hot water tank wi th a maximum to tal rebate of $3.00 per GJ per customer; and WHEREAS ICG proposes to accept a lower profit margin on gas sales to finance the program so that no program costs will be applied to the utility's cost of service; and SIXTH FLOOR, 900 HOIIVE STREET. BRITI~H COLUMBIA UTILITIES COMMISSION ORDER 2 NUMBER G-65-90 WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Application and is satisfied that, subject to an extension of availability, approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 67 of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission orders ICG as follows: I. The Program as filed with the Com mission on August 16, 1990 is approved. 2. The Program is to be extended to provide rebates for any new residential load connected, subject to a maximum rebate of $3.00 per GJ in total per customer. 3. Rebates under the Program are to be financed ou t of the existing profit margin on sales. 4. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, amended terms and conditions and rates to ICG's Gas Tariff to reflect the terms of the Order.
