Swanson, Q.C., ) Commissioner ) o R D E R WHEREAS Hemlock Valley Electrical Services Ltd. ("HVES") applied May 31, 1990, pursuant to Sections 67(2) and 106(1) of the Utilities Commission Act (lithe Act"), to increase its filed Electric Tariff Rate Schedule to permit the recovery of the increased cost of purchased power from its supplier, B.C. Hydro and Power Authori ty; and WHEREAS the HVES Application also requested an interim increase in the electric tariff for the treatment of rate base, cost of capital and other operating costs; and WHEREAS the Commission's July 8, 1983 Decision did not allow for the inclusion of Rate Base costs in the Company's revenue requirements; and WHEREAS the Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting material and finds that the filing of an amendment to the filed Electric Tariff is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders HVES as follows: l. The Rate Base costs included in the Application will not form part of the Interim increase allowed in Item No.2 of this Order at this time. . ../ 2
BRITI~H COLUMBIA UTILITIES COMMISSION ORDER 2 NUMBEn G-Sl-90 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, effective July I, 1990, an amendment to its Electric Tariff Rate Schedule incorporating an increase of 3.70 cents/kW.h over existing rates on an interim basis, with the interim increase subject to refund with interest calculated at the average prime rate of the bank with which HVES conducts its business. 3. HVES, by way of a Customer Notice, is to inform each customer, as soon as possible, of the Application before the Commission, the approved Interim increase and the effect on average annual billings.
