On December 30, 1991 West Kootenay Power Ltd. ("WKP") applied to vary Commission Order No. 0-120-91 and to increase the interim rate increase to 8.7 percent as a result of an increase in the cost of purchased power from its supplier, Cominco Ltd., effective with consumption on and after January 1, 1992; and B. The Application is as a result of the replacement of the WKP/Cominco Consolidated Sale of Surplus Power Agreement by the Long-Term Firm Power Supply Agreement and 1999 Firm Power Supply Agreement, effective January 1, 1992; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting material and finds that the amended interim rate increase is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Commission Order No. 0-120-91, is varied to include the effect of the increased cost of purchased power, with such combined interim increases equivalent to 8.7 percent, effective with customer consumption on and after January 1, 1992. 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, amended Electric Tariff Rate Schedules which incorporates a general interim increase in rates to all customers of 8.7 percent over existing rates. 3. WKP, by way of Customer Notice, is to inform customers of the general interim rate increases, their effect on monthly bills and reasons for the increased rates effective January 1, 1992.
