G-62-92 IN THE MA TIER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60 as amended and IN THE MA TIER OF an Application by British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority BEFORE: J.G. McIntyre, ) Chairman; and ) N. Martin, ) July 23, 1992 Commissioner ) o R D E R WHEREAS: A. On July 16, 1992, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C. Hydro") applied to the Commission, pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act (lithe Act"), to pass-through a 0.3 percent Corporation Capital Tax effective April 1, 1992 payable by B.C. Hydro to the Provincial Government, estimated to be $28,185,000 for the 1992/93 fiscal year; and B. On June 5, 1992 Royal Assent was given to the Provincial Government tax changes; and C. B.C. Hydro applied to restructure the rate increase to its major rate classes proportionally using the principles approved by the Commission in its April 24, 1992 Decision on Rate Design and Order No. G-36-92, effective with consumption on and after August 1, 1992; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting documentation and is satisfied that approval of an increase in electric rates is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Act, the Commission approves and accepts for filing for B.c. Hydro amended Electric Tariff Rate Schedules that will pass-through the 0.3 percent Corporation Capital Tax under the Corporation Capital Tax Act, for all customers, effective August 1, 1992. 2. B.C. Hydro is to inform customers of the rate increase effective August 1, 1992 an~r;s effect on monthly electricity bills.
