G-60-92 IN THE MATTER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.Re. 1980, c. 60, as amended and IN THE MATTER OF an Application by Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. and Commission Order No. G-34-92 BEFORE: J.D.V. Newlands, ) Deputy Chairman; ) N. Martin, ) July 30, 1992 Commissioner; and ) H.J. Page, ) Commissioner ) o R D E R WHEREAS: A. On December 16, 1991 Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. - Fort S1. John District ("Centra Gas") filed its 1992 Revenue Requirements Application ("the Application") pursuant to Sections 64 and 104 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act") and requested an interim increase in rates of 11.1 percent, to all customers, effective January 1, 1992; and B. Commission Order No. G-119-91 denied Centra Gas' Application for a January 1, 1992 interim increase and ordered a public hearing take place on February 17, 1992; and C. On January 7, 1992 Centra Gas applied to the Commission for reconsideration of Order No. G-119-91, pursuant to Section 114 of the Act, and advised that it would be unable to comply with the filing of its review of inter-company charges, requested a delay in the commencement of the proceedings and requested that an interim increase in rates be approved effective February 1, 1992; and D. Commission Order No. G-8-92 approved for Centra Gas, an 11.1 percent interim rate increase to all customers effective February 1, 1992 and set down the Application for public hearing to commence May 25, 1992 in Fort S1. John, RC., subject to the filing of supplemental evidence by Centra Gas, including a detailed review of inter-company charges; and E. The public hearing into Centra Gas' Application commenced on May 25, 1992 and concluded on May 28, 1992; and F. The Commission has considered the Application and evidence adduced thereon all as set forth in the Reasons for Decision ("Decision") issued concurrently with this Order. HOWI~ C 1
G-60-92 2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders Centra Gas as follows: 1. The Rate Base and Revenue Requirements for Centra Gas for the year ending December 31, 1992 are as set out in the Schedules contained in the Decision. 2. The interim rates approved by Order No. G-8-92 are considered to be excessive and are required to be refunded by Centra Gas with appropriate interest to customers from February 1, 1992 to the date upon which the new Gas Tariff Rate Schedules come into effect. 3. Centra Gas will comply with the several directions incorporated in the Commission Decision issued concurrently with this Order.
