Limited BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chaitperson; ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chaitperson; and ) November 4, 1993 ORDER WHEREAS: A. On November 1, 1993 Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. on behalf of its subsidiary, Northland Utilities (B.C.) Limited ("NUL") applied to the Commission for approval of cost of gas changes for the gas contract year commencing November 1, 1993; and B. The Application requested approval to increase rates to NUL customers in the Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge Divisions by $0.50/GJ and to set up a deferral account from November 1, 1993 to record the difference between the final negotiated costs of gas supply and the pass-through increase of $0.50/GJ; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Application by NUL to pass-through an increase in the cost of gas to all customers in the Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge Divisions in the amount of $0.50/GJ effective November 1, 1993 is approved pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act. 2. The Commission approves for NUL a cost of gas supply deferral account to record the revenue collected from the $.50/GJ increase and any increased gas costs resulting from approved price changes under Northland's gas supply arrangements, with interest on the balance to be paid at Northland's cost of short term debt. The disposition of the deferral account balance will be considered by the Commission at a future date. 3. NUL, by way of customer notice, is to inform all affected customers of the tariff changes approved by this Order.
