IN THE MATIER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60 as amended and IN THE MAT IER OF an Application by Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. BEFORE: J.G. McIntyre, ) Chainnan; and ) J.D.V. Newlands, ) Deputy Chainnan; and ) July 9, 1992 N. Martin, ) Commissioner ) o R D E R WHEREAS: A. On March 31, 1992, Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. ("PNG") applied to the Commission, pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), to pass-through an increase of 1 percent in the Corporation Income Tax Rate effective January 1, 1992, an increase in 1992 non-residential property taxes and a 0.3 percent Corporation Capital Tax effective April 1, 1992 paid by PNG to the Provincial Government; and B. On June 5, 1992 Royal Assent was given to the Provincial Government tax changes; and C. On July 2, 1992 PNG provided the Commission with revised calculations for its 1992 Corporation Income Tax as a result of the impact of the Commission's April 3, 1992 Decision on Revenue Requirements and the utility requested that rates be effective as of August 1, 1992 and that a deferral account be set up to collect the increases from January 1, 1992 to July 31, 1992; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting documentation and is satisfied that approval of an increase in natural gas rates is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Act, the Commission denies the setting up of a deferral account and approves for PNG amended Gas Tariff Rate Schedules that will pass-through the entire increase of 1 percent in the Corporation Income Tax Rate under the Income Tax Amendment Act, 1992, the increase in non-residential property taxes and the 0.3 percent Corporation Capital Tax under the Corporation Capital Tax Act, for all customers, effective August 1, 1992. . .. /2 C \
2 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, Gas Tariff Rate Schedules amended in accordance with the terms of this Order, effective with gas consumption on and after August 1, 1992. 3.
