Jaccard, Clair; ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Clair; and ) January 26,1993 K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) WHEREAS: A. Commission Order No. E-I0-89 approved for Inland Natural Gas Marketing Ltd. ("INGM") purchases of interruptible gas supplies by British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C. Hydro") for use at its Burrard Thermal Generating Plant covering the period November 1,1989 to April 30, 1990; and B. On January 15, 1993 B.C. Hydro applied pursuant to the Commission's Rules Respecting Energy Supply Contracts ("the Rules") and Section 85.3 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act") for approval of a Short-Term Interruptible Natural Gas Purchase Agreement between INGM and B.C. Hydro dated January 14, 1993; and C. The Agreement will allow B.C. Hydro to purchase up to 46.3 TJ/day for the period January 16 to 31, 1993 and for blanket approval for interruptible purchases to April 30, 1993; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Contract and is satisfied that the short-term interruptible gas supply arrangement between INGM and B.C. Hydro and should be approved. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 85.3 of the Act and the Rules thereunder, the Commission orders as follows: 1. The January 14, 1993 Short-Term Interruptible Natural Gas Purchase Agreement between INGM and B.C. Hydro for supply of 46.3 TJ/day of gas to the Burrard Thermal Generating Plant covering the period January 16 to 31, 1993 is approved. 2. Blanket approval for gas supplies to B.C. Hydro covering the period February 1, 1993 to April 30, 1993 is denied. Interruptible gas supplies for this period require such agreements to be filed with the Commission prior to any gas deliveries taking place.
