BEFORE: L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson; and ) KL. Hall, Commissioner ) August 25, 1993 o R D E R WHEREAS: A. On August 16, 1993 Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. - Fort St. John District ("Centra Gas") applied, pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), to record increased property tax expenses of $129,856 in the Fort St. John District, in a a deferral account commencing July 1, 1993; and B. Centra Gas applied for Commission approval to recover the increased costs, plus interest, by way of a rate rider on customer consumption commencing in calendar year 1994; and C. Centra Gas advised the Commission that it intends to submit an application for revenue requirements in 1994 for the Fort St. John District; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that approval of the deferral account for Centra Gas is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The increased property tax expense of $129,856 paid by Centra Gas in 1993 is to be placed in a deferral account commencing July 1, 1993 and is to attract interest at Centra Gas' short-term debt rate for 1993 and 1994. 2. The Commission denies for Centra Gas, the Application to recover the increase in 1993 property tax expense by way of a rate rider on customer consumption in the Fort St. John District commencing January 1, 1994. 3. The Commission advises Centra Gas that it may wish to propose a recovery method for the property tax deferral account in its expected 1994 Revenue Requirements application; otherwise the disposition will be by way of a future Commission Order.
