AN ORDER IN THE MAT IER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60, as amended and An Application by Princeton Light and Power Company, Limited BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chair; ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner; and ) January 6, 1993 F.e. Leighton, Commissioner ) WHEREAS: A. On December 29, 1992 Princeton Light and Power Company, Limited (ltpLp lt ) filed an Application for a 2.733 percent general increase in rates in order to pass-through West Kootenay Power Ltd.'s (ItWKPIt) 4.8 percent interim increase in rates for power supplied, effective January 1, 1993; and B. The Commission, by Order No. 0-123-92, approved for WKP an interim increase in rates of 4.8 percentage effective January 1, 1993 subject to refund and a public hearing scheduled for March 8, 1993 in Penticton, B.C.; and C. The Commission has considered the Application and is satisfied that an interim increase for PLP is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for PLP a 2.733 percent interim increase in rates due to an increase in the cost of power from the Company's supplier, WKP, both effective January 1, 1993. 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, amended Electric Tariff rate schedules that embody the interim increase approved by this Order. 3. PLP will provide all customers with an appropriate notice of explanation of the interim rate increase and its effect on monthly electricity bills by way of a bill stuffer and will a publish a notice in the Community newspaper. 4. The January 1, 1993 interim rate increase is subject to refund with interest calculated at the average prime rate of the principal bank with which PLP conducts its business.
