BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) October 6, 1993 WHEREAS: A. The Commission, by Order No. G-61-93, authorized the recovery of its costs based on a charge against each utility's total gross energy sales for the previous calendar year; and B. On September 23, 1993 BC Gas Utility Ltd. ("BC Gas Utility") applied to the British Columbia Utilities Commission ("BCUC") for approval to record in a deferral account the additional BCUC levy of $620,600 for the fiscal year 1993; and C. BC Gas Utility also advised that the disposition of the BCU C deferral account should be amortized in 1994; and D. The Commission has reviewed the application and finds that a deferral account to record the increased 1993 BCUC levy is appropriate and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for BC Gas Utility, pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act, the use of a deferral account to record the difference between the actual 1993 BCUC levy and the BC Gas Utility forecast with such balances attracting interest at the average prime rate of the utility's principal bank. 2.
