Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) December 15, 1994 ORDER WHEREAS: A. On December 5, 1994 BC Gas Utility Ltd. ("BC Gas"), pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), applied to the Commission for approval to pass-through cost of gas changes to its Gas Tariff Rate Schedules for the Lower Mainland, Inland and Columbia Divisions effective January 1, 1995; and B. The Application reflects a downward adjustment to the indexed portion of its baseload gas purchase contracts for the 1994/95 gas purchase year that was requested by the Commission in a letter dated November 14, 1994, The cost of gas changes will result in decreases ranging from $0.129/GJ to $0.165/GJ in the Lower Mainland, $0.115/GJ to $0.133/GJ for Inland, and increases of $0.221/GJ to $0.363/GJ for Columbia Division customers; and C. The Application also notes that the gas supply for the Columbia Division is provided from the overall BC Gas supply portfolio which allocates part of its Alberta sourced baseload, seasonal and storage contracts to the Division based on the same demand/commodity structure as other BC Gas Divisions, including an allocation of baseload storage and seasonal fixed costs consistent with the methodology adopted by the Commission in the BC Gas Phase A Decision dated October 25, 1993; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and is satisfied that approval is necessary and in the public interest.
2 G-98-94 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves, pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Act, BC Gas' December 5, 1994 application to pass-through cost of gas changes, as filed, to Gas Tariff Rate Schedules for customers in the Lower Mainland, Inland and Columbia Divisions, effective January 1, 1995. 2. BC Gas, by way of customer notice, is to provide all affected customers with an explanation of the Gas Tariff rate schedule changes effective January 1, 1995. 3. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, amended Gas Tariff Rate Schedules in accordance with the terms of this Order.
