BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) June 25, 1993 WHEREAS: A. On April 1, 1993 Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (tlpNG tI ) applied to the Commission pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Utilities Commission Act (tithe Act tl ) to pass-through to gas tariff rate schedules effective July 1, 1993 an increase in the Corporation Income Tax Rate that became effective on July 1, 1993 and an increase in the Motor Fuel Tax Rate that became effective April 1, 1993; and B. On June 18, 1993 Royal Assent was given to the Provincial Government tax changes; and C. On June 18, 1993 PNG provided the Commission with revised allocations to customer rates with the costs for 1993 Corporation Income Tax allocated on a gross margin basis and the costs for Motor Fuel Tax allocated on a volumetric basis, applied to customer rates effective July 1, 1993; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting documentation and is satisfied that approval of an increase in natural gas rates is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 67(4) of the Act, the Commission approves for PNG amended Gas Tariff Rate Schedules that will pass-through the increases in the Corporation Income Tax Rate and Motor Fuel Tax for all customers effective July 1, 1993. 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, Gas Tariff Rate Schedules amended in accordance with the terms of this Order, effective with gas consumption on and after July 1, 1993. 3. PNG is to inform customers of the rate increase effective July 1, 1993 and its effect on monthly gas bills.
