Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) May 25, 1993 L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) WHEREAS: A. On February 19, 1993 British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.e. Hydro") ("the Applicant") filed with the Commission for approval an Application, pursuant to Sections 64, 67, 106 and 114 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act") and Special Direction No.8, to increase rates on an interim and permanent basis to all customers effective April 1, 1993; and B. The Commission, by Order No. 0-16-93, approved a 3.9 percent interim rate increase to all classes of electric service customers effective April 1, 1993, based on rate design proposals as set out in the Application, all subject to refund with interest following a public hearing that will commence September 13, 1993 in Vancouver, British Columbia; and C. The Commission now requires that a Notice of Public Hearing be published outlining specific dates for the Applicant, Intervenors and Interested Parties to follow. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Not later than June 4, 1993, B.C. Hydro will arrange for publication of a Notice of Public Hearing, in the form attached, in display-ad format, in the business section of one issue each of the Vancouver Sun, The Province, the Victoria Times Colonist, and in appropriate local community newspaper publications so as to provide adequate notice to the public in its service area. . .. /2
2 G-37-93 2. The Application and supporting material will be made available for inspection at the B.C. Hydro Head Office Information Centre, 333 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver, B.C., all District Offices located throughout its service area and at the British Columbia Utilities Commission, 6th Floor, 900 Howe Street, Vancouver, B.c. 3. B.C. Hydro will distribute a copy of the Application to all Intervenors, and an Executive Summary to Interested Parties as they become registered with the Commission. 4. B.C. Hydro is to file with the Commission any additional prepared testimony and supplemental material upon which it intends to rely, not later than June 11, 1993. 5. Intervenors and Interested Parties intending to be present and participate in the public hearing should give written Notice to the Commission Secretary and to the Applicant, to be received no later than June 18. 1993. Such Notice should state the nature of the interest in the proceeding. 6. IntelVenors and Interested Parties intending to make requests for additional information from the Applicant. should do so by June 30. 1993. Information Requests made by June 30. 1993 shall be responded to by B.C. Hydro on or before July 15. 1993. 7. Registered Intervenors intending to file written evidence pertaining to the Application must do so with the Commission and the Applicant by July 27, 1993. Any Information Requests by B.C. Hydro or other parties regarding written intervenor evidence should be made by August 10. 1993. Information Requests made by August 10, 1993 shall be responded to by August 31, 1993. Hydro shall respond to such requests by July 15, 1993. SUBMISSIONS BY INTERVENORS Written evidence from Intervenors is required to be filed, one copy each, with the Commission Secretary and the Applicant by July 27, 1993. Any Infonnation Requests by B.c. Hydro or other parties regarding written intervenor evidence should be made by August 10, 1993. Infonnation Requests made by that date shall be responded to by August 31, 1993.
