Hall, Commissioner ) August 25, 1994 ORDER WHEREAS: A. On July 27, 1994 West Kootenay Power Ltd. ("WKP") applied, pursuant to Section 47 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), to remove from service the section of the Koch Creek line which runs from its South Slocan Generating Station to the interconnection point with British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority's circuit at Koch Creek, B.C.; and B. WKP advised the Commission that the Koch Creek line, constructed in 1956 at 138 kV, no longer serves a useful purpose and its removal from service will result in an economic benefit to customers due to lower property tax and maintenance expenses estimated to be $50,000 per year; and C. The Commission has reviewed the application and is satisfied that approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 47 of the Act, the Commission approves WKP's application for removal from service of Circuit No. 29L, the 138 kV transmission line from South Slocan to Koch Creek, B.c.
