Ltd. for Approval of Propane Supply Agreement with Superior Propane Inc. BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) August 10, 1995 ORDER WHEREAS: A. By Order No. E-6-94 the Commission approved for Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. ("Squamish Gas") a propane supply contract with Superior Propane Inc. ("Superior") for the period ending October 31, 1994 and required that future contracts be based on a competitive bidding process; and B. By Order No. E-20-94 the Commission further approved a supply contract for 1994/95 with Superior and also approved a request to set the increase in propane costs against the positive balance in the propane cost deferral account; and e. Squamish Gas has requested Commission approval for an extension of its distribution system which, if it proceeds, will provide gas service to most customers who presently receive bottled propane service and will result in a significant reduction in propane requirements; and D. On August 3, 1995, Squamish Gas requested that the requirement to tender for propane supply be waived and filed an agreement to extend the current supply arrangement with Superior for one year; and E. The Commission has reviewed the filing and is satisfied that the propane supply contract should be approved. .. ./2
1-95 2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. For the year beginning November 1, 1995, the Commission waives the requirement to obtain tenders for propane supply and approves an extension of the current pricing arrangements, as set out in the letter from Superior dated June 22, 1995, subject to the timely filing of formal documentation related to the extension. 2. The continuation of the recovery of $.0224 per litre of the cost of propane from the credit balance in the Propane Cost Deferral Account is approved until such time as the positive credit balance is eliminated. 3. Squamish Gas is reminded that Order No. E-20-94 directed it to file, by November I, 1995, a report which demonstrates that the rate charged to bottled propane customers fully recovers the cost to the utility of providing the service.
