Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) January 5, 1995 ORDER WHEREAS: A. The Corporation of the City of Nelson ("the City") applied on December 23, 1994 for Commission approval of permanent rates contained in the City of Nelson Electrical Utility Regulatory Amendment By-Law No. 2682, 1994 ("the By-Law") applicable to electric service rendered by the City in its service area; and B. The amendments specified in the By-Law are to permit the City to increase all customer rates by 4.7 percent effective January 1, 1995, in order to recover increased electricity charges from its supplier, West Kootenay Power Ltd. ("WKP") that was approved by Orders No. G-41-94 and G-100-94 and for recovery of additional cost of service requirements; and C. The By-Law maintains the rate differential approved by Commission Decision and Order No. G-49-82 dated July 9, 1982; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and supporting material and finds that an increase in electricity rates contained in the By-Law is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission accepts for filing, effective January 1, 1995, The Corporation of the City of Nelson Electrical Utility Regulatory Amendment By-Law No. 2682, 1994. .../2
2 2. The City, by way of Customer Notice, is to inform customers of the general rate increase and its effect on monthly bills along with the reasons for the increased rates.
