Ltd. for Approval of Natural Gas Rate Increase BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) November 21, 1996 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On November 20, 1996 Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. (ÒSquamish Gas") filed for Commission approval, amendments to Gas Tariff Rate Schedules and rates for natural gas distribution service to retail customers located in its service area pursuant to the Special Direction and under the terms of the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline Act; and B. Pursuant to the Special Direction, Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. ("Centra Gas") surveyed competitive fuel oil markets on Vancouver Island and reported that a change in rates charged to Pioneer Customers, under its Closed Rate Schedules, required an increase effective December 1, 1996. By agreement, the Squamish Gas rates are identical to those of Centra Gas customers on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that approval to amend rates for natural gas service to Squamish Gas customers is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders Squamish Gas as follows: 1.
