Ltd. for Approval of Propane Supply Agreement with Superior Propane Inc. BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ORDER WHEREAS: A. By Order No. E-6-94 the Commission approved for Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. ("Squamish Gas") a propane supply contract with Superior Propane Inc. ("Superior") for the period ending October 31, 1994 and required that future contracts be based on a competitive bidding process; and B. By Order No. E-20-94 the Commission further approved a supply contract for 1994/95 with Superior and by Order No. E-21-95 approved an extension of the contract for 1995/96; and C. On October 23, 1996 Squamish Gas requested that, as there is considerable uncertainty about the number of customers who will continue to use this service, the Commission waive competitive tendering of the business and approve an extension of the current agreement with Superior for a further 12-month period and with prices based on the Cherry Point, Washington posted prices at the beginning of each month plus delivery charges to Squamish Gas; and D. The Commission has reviewed the filing and is satisfied that the extension of the propane supply contract should be approved. NOW THEREFORE for the contract year commencing November 1, 1996, the Commission waives the requirement to obtain tenders for propane supply and approves an extension of the current contract, with pricing arrangements based on the Cherry Point, Washington posted prices, as set out in the proposal from Superior dated July 25, 1996, subject to the timely filing of formal documentation related to the extension.
