On NovemberÊ1, 1996 WKP filed its Preliminary 1997 Revenue Requirements material for the 1997 Annual Review, which was held on DecemberÊ4, 1996 in Kelowna, B.C. On DecemberÊ12, 1996 West Kootenay Power Ltd. ("WKP") filed its Application for Final Rates by Customer Class, effective JanuaryÊ1, 1997, which was approved by the Commission under Order No.ÊG-1-97; and B. On DecemberÊ16, 1996 Natural Resource IndustriesÊ(ÒNRIÓ) and on JanuaryÊ20, 1997 the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre, on behalf of its client the Consumers' Association of Canada B.C.ÊBranch (ÒCAC(BC) et al."), both filed applications for participant assistance cost awards for their participation at the WKP Annual Review; and C. The Panel has determined that NRIÕs and CAC(BC)Õs participation in the WKP Annual Review proceedings requires reimbursement in accordance with Commission approved guidelines; and D. The Panel has discussed the claims having regard to the criteria and rates as set out in Order No.ÊG-103-96. . . . /2

Pursuant to SectionÊ133.1(1) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission awards funds to: NRI Attendance and Preparation Expenses including Travel CAC(BC) Counsel Fees Consultant Fees Expenses/Disbursements 2. WKP is directed to reimburse NRI and CAC(BC) in the total amounts awarded in a timely fashion.
