Ltd. for Approval to Reduce Natural Gas Rates to Customers BEFORE: L.R. Barr, Deputy Chair ) and Acting Chair ) October 23, 1997 K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) F.C. Leighton, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On October 21, 1997 Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. ("Squamish Gas") filed for Commission approval an application to reduce its schedule of rates for natural gas distribution service to retail customers located in its service area, pursuant to the Special Direction under the terms of the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline Act, and the Squamish Rate Stabilization Agreement; and B. Pursuant to the Special Direction, Centra Gas surveyed local heating oil dealers and advised the Commission that Light Fuel Oil prices had declined and that lower natural gas rates should be passed through to all customers served by the Vancouver Island Gas Pipeline, including Squamish Gas customers; and C. In a similar application, Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. ("Centra Gas") requested that the decrease to customer rates be effective NovemberÊ1, 1997. The Application was approved and the Commission issued Order No.ÊG-106-97; and D. The Commission has reviewed the October 21, 1997 Squamish Gas application and finds that approval of the November 1, 1997 rate reduction for natural gas customers is necessary and in the public interest. .../2
2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for Squamish Gas a rate decrease for natural gas service covering Rate Schedules SGS-1, SGS-2, LGS-1, LGS-2, LGS-3 and CRR, effective NovemberÊ1, 1997. 2. Squamish Gas is to inform all affected customers of the NovemberÊ1, 1997 change in rates by way of a customer notice included in the next billing.
