On June 9, 1997 Princeton Light and Power Company, Limited (ÒPLPÓ) applied to the Commission for approval of its Rate Design initiatives identified as ÒTRANS-X RatesÓ pursuant to SectionsÊ23 and 61 of the Utilities Commission Act (Òthe ActÓ); and B. The Commission finds that the TRANS-X Rates Application requires review by way of a written hearing. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. PLP is to publish the Notice of Written Hearing, attached as AppendixÊA, in the local Princeton Spotlight newspaper. PLP is to inform customers, by way of a notice printed on its next customer bill, of the Application, the Regulatory Timetable, and the availability of an Executive Summary. V6Z 2N3 BC TOLL FREE: 1-800-663-1385 CANADA FACSIMILE: (604) 660-1102 NOTICE OF WRITTEN HEARING PRINCETON LIGHT AND POWER COMPANY, LIMITED APPLICATION FOR RATE DESIGN INITIATIVES - TRANS-X RATES THE APPLICATION Princeton Light and Power Company, Limited (ÒPLPÓ) applied to the Commission on JuneÊ9, 1997 for redesign of its tariffs and rates for all customers in its service area, referred to as the ÒTRANS-XÓ Application. The proposed rate structure is intended to prepare PLP for competitive energy markets and will reflect the true cost of service to each customer class. Overall, the proposed rate structure is revenue neutral for PLP compared to the existing tariffs. PROCESS As outlined in the Regulatory Timetable contained in Order No.ÊG-71-97, the Commission has determined that the TRANS-X Application requires a written hearing to allow customers, intervenors and interested parties to review the proposals and provide comments. The deadline for Intervenor registration with the Commission is JulyÊ31, 1997. PUBLIC INSPECTION OF THE APPLICATION The TRANS-X Application, supporting material and Commission Order No.ÊG-71-97 are available for inspection at the following locations. INFORMATION REQUESTS Registered Intervenors or Interested Parties requesting additional information from PLP should do so as soon as possible, but no later than AugustÊ15, 1997. PLP is to respond to such requests no later than AugustÊ29, 1997. WRITTEN ARGUMENT / EVIDENCE BY INTERVENORS Written submissions or evidence from Intervenors is required to be filed with the Commission Secretary and PLP by September 12, 1997. PLP is to reply to submissions by SeptemberÊ26, 1997. PARTICIPANT ASSISTANCE All parties intending to apply for Participant Assistance must file a budget by JulyÊ31, 1997 consistent with the Commission's Policy and Rate Sheet as outlined in Order No.ÊG-103-96.
