V6J2K2 Dear Mr. Kimpton: Re: British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority Complaint - 1176 Yates Street, Victoria, B.C. - Rental Premises Your complaint including correspondence from yourself and from B.C. Hydro was reviewed by the Commissioners at a recent Commission meeting. The Commission finds that B.C. Hydro has acted appropriately in implementing the tariff provisions with respect to the property in question. In the view of the Commission, it is not in the general public interest to alter the Electric Tariff to relieve you, as landlord and owner of the building, from debts incurred from your building to be passed on to other ratepayers of B.C. Hydro. The Commission notes that B.C. Hydro has offered you two options to choose from which are available to owners who have been placed under the "Rental Premises" section of the Electric Tariff. They are: 1 . Continue billing directly; and/or 2. Enter into a Rental Premises Agreement with B.C. Hydro. We note from earlier correspondence that you have rejected B.C. Hydro's offer to try the "Adopt-a-Building Program" as an alternative to the direct billing option. Unfortunately, without some sort of cooperative effort by yourself, the issue of direct billing of your tenants' consumption remains your responsibility. Therefore, the Commission concludes that B.C. Hydro has attempted to resolve the matter in a fair, consistent and expeditious manner. As the Commission is unable to assist you further, your complaint file has been closed. Thank you for contacting the Commission. Yours truly, RJP/ssc cc: Ms. Darlene M. Barnett (FACSIMILE 623-4323) Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Customer Services British Columbia Hydro & Power Authority Complaint/BCH-Kimpton/L-41-97
