Leighton, Commissioner ) P.G. Bradley, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. By Order No. E-6-94, the Commission approved for Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. (“Squamish Gas”) a propane supply contract with Superior Propane Inc. (“Superior”) for the period ending October 31, 1994, and required that future contracts be based on a competitive bidding process. The Commission approved subsequent annual agreements and, by Order No. E-13-97, approved an agreement with Superior for the year ending October 31, 1998; and B. On December 7, 1998, Squamish Gas advised the Commission that it had failed to negotiate a new propane supply agreement with Superior prior to the October 31, 1998 expiry date, and as a result, Squamish Gas and Superior have agreed to extend the current contract for the supply of bottled propane and tank leasing arrangements until such time as the parties can reach a new agreement, prior to April 30, 1999; and C. The extension of the contract arrangements to April 30, 1999, will allow the natural gas extension to the Brackendale and Garibaldi Highlands areas to be completed at which time the bottled propane customers will be converted to natural gas service; and D. The Commission has reviewed the filing and is satisfied that an extension of the existing propane supply arrangements should be approved. . . ./2
2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for Squamish Gas an extension of the propane supply contract and tank leasing arrangements with Superior, from November 1, 1998 to April 30, 1999.
