On November 25, 1998, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“B.C. Hydro”) applied, pursuant to Section 63 of the Utilities Commission Act, for a variance to Rate Schedule 1848 effective August 1, 1998 and for an amendment to its Electric Tariff Rate Schedules 1288 and 1848; and B. The variance will allow the reduced Customer Baseline Load (“CBL”) customers taking service under Rate Schedule 1848 the option to retroactively change their accounts to Rate Schedule 1821-Transmission Service to any date of their choosing on or after August 1, 1998; and C. The application also amends Rate Schedules 1288 and 1848 by inserting a provision in the Special Conditions whereby a customer who terminates service under a Real Time Pricing (“RTP”) rate schedule will be subject to a waiting period of one year from the date of termination before the customer can reapply for RTP service; and D. The Commission has reviewed the application for a variance to Rate Schedule 1848 and the amendment to Rate Schedules 1288 and 1848 and finds they should be approved. . . ./2
2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for B.C. Hydro a variance to Rate Schedule 1848 that will provide customers with reduced CBLs taking service under Rate Schedule 1848 with the option to retroactively change their accounts to Rate Schedule 1821-Transmission Service to any date of their choosing on or after August 1, 1998. 2. The Commission approves for B.C. Hydro the amendment to Rate Schedules 1288 and 1848 that requires all RTP customers who terminate RTP service to be subject to a one-year waiting period, from the date of termination, before they can reapply for RTP service. 3. B.C. Hydro is to advise all qualified RTP service customers of the variance and tariff amendment approved by this Order.
