Ostergaard, Chair ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chair ) February 5, 1998 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On December 18, 1997, the Commission, by Order No.ÊG-135-97, approved for Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. ("Centra Gas") its DecemberÊ15, 1997 application to increase rates to Pioneer Customers in the Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast service areas, effective JanuaryÊ1, 1998. The increase is to be placed in the deferral account approved by Order No.ÊG-62-97, pursuant to SectionÊ60 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), the Special Direction approved by Order in Council No.Ê1510, 1995, and under the terms of the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline Act; and B. On January 28, 1998, Centra Gas applied to the Commission to commence recovery of the rate increase, approved by Order No.ÊG-135-97 effective FebruaryÊ1, 1998, and to terminate the application of Rate RiderÊB to Rate Class SGS-2, effective FebruaryÊ1, 1998, as the recovery of the deferred revenue attributed to that class of customer would have substantially occurred by the end of January, 1998; and C. Pursuant to the Special Direction, Centra Gas surveyed light fuel oil prices in Victoria and Nanaimo and reported that rates remained unchanged over the increased December, 1997 prices. Centra Gas requested that its schedule of rates be increased effective FebruaryÊ1, 1998; and D. The Commission has reviewed the JanuaryÊ28, 1998 application and finds that the schedule of rates to Pioneer Customers are required to be increased, effective FebruaryÊ1, 1998. . . ./2
2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The increased rates approved by Order No.ÊG-135-97, and placed in a deferral account effective JanuaryÊ1, 1998, are approved to be passed through to the schedules of rates for Pioneer Customers in the Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast service areas, effective FebruaryÊ1, 1998. 2. The Commission approves for Centra Gas the termination of Rate RiderÊB for the SGS-2 customer class, effective FebruaryÊ1, 1998, as the recovery of the deferred revenue attributable to that class of customer has substantially occurred. 3. Centra Gas is to advise all affected customers of the increase in rates passed through to all rate schedules of the Utility.
