BEFORE: L.R. Barr, Deputy Chair ) F.C. Leighton, Commissioner ) August 6, 1998 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. The Commission, by Order No.ÊG-74-97, approved for Centra Gas Whistler Inc. (ÒCentra GasÓ) the UtilityÕs 1996 deferral account balances and accepted the 1997 activity forecasts that included the propane cost deferral and other accounts. The Order advised that the Commission would review the 1997 actual results and deferral account balances in a later filing; and B. On JuneÊ12, 1998, Centra Gas filed the actual 1997 deferral accounts and activity, its 1998 forecast activity, and the proposed 1998 amortization of deferral account balances. Centra Gas indicated that there would be no change to the rates charged to customers in 1998; and C. In the Application Centra Gas expects that if, rates remain unchanged, the 1998 deferral account balances will decline from an opening balance of approximately $690,000 to $140,000 by 1998 year-end; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Centra Gas Application and finds that the request to maintain current rates is appropriate. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for Centra Gas its 1997 deferral account balances. 2. The Commission accepts the 1998 forecasts in the Application on the basis that current rates will remain unchanged for WhistlerÕs propane grid system customers. . . ./2

In order to hold harmless all parties, the Commission will determine the final disposition of the deferral account balances following its review of the actual 1998 results of operations, or after receipt of the 1999/2000 Revenue Requirements Application which Centra Gas anticipates filing in the fall of 1998. 4. Centra Gas is to inform all Intervenors and Interested Parties of the CommissionÕs Order and its affect on rates.
