The Amended and Restated Burrard Thermal Interruptible Gas Purchase Agreement with British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“B.C. Hydro”), dated September 29, 1988, was approved by Order No. G-101-95 with an effective date of September 1, 1995, and expired at 8:00 a.m., on September 30, 1998; and B. The Amended and Restated Burrard Thermal Interruptible Gas Purchase Agreement provided for interruptible deliveries to B.C. Hydro’s Burrard Thermal Generating Station (“Burrard Thermal”) at a $0.25/GJ transportation rate; and C. Commission Order No. G-94-98 dated November 24, 1998, approved an interim interruptible transportation rate of $0.25/GJ for deliveries to Burrard Thermal for the period September 30, 1998 to January 1, 1999; and D. On January 13, 1999, BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) requested approval of a Bypass Transportation Agreement with B.C. Hydro, dated November 27, 1998, which provides rates for firm and interruptible deliveries to Burrard Thermal. As of the date of this Order the Commission is reviewing this application; and E. The January 13, 1999 filing states that BC Gas will apply to the Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for a compressor station in the Fraser Valley that is required to provide firm service to B.C. Hydro under the Bypass Transportation Agreement; and . . ./2

On April 12, 1999, BC Gas requested Commission approval to continue with the $0.25/GJ transportation rate until the Commission deals with the application for the Bypass Transportation Agreement; and G. The Commission has reviewed the filing and finds that the rate should be approved. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for BC Gas an interim transportation rate of $0.25/GJ for deliveries to B.C. Hydro’s Burrard Thermal Generating Station for the period commencing January 1, 1999 that will continue until such time as the Commission deals with the application for the Bypass Transportation Agreement.
