Leighton, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On December 23, 1998, Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. (“Squamish Gas”) applied to the Commission for approval to increase natural gas Apartment Customer Rates (“ACR-1”) effective December 1, 1998, consistent with the Commissions approval of similar rates to Pioneer natural gas customers for Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. (“Centra Gas”) by Order No. G-109-98; and B. On January 26, 1999, Squamish Gas applied to the Commission for approval to decrease rates to ACR-1 customers, effective February 1, 1999, consistent with the Commissions approval of ACR-1 rates for Centra Gas Pioneer customers by Order No. G-10-99; and C. As a condition of the Special Direction and the terms of the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline Act, Centra Gas monitors the prices for heating oil available to apartment customers. Centra Gas found that the prices for heating oil had changed, resulting in a corresponding change to the oil-based ACR-1 rates in the Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast service areas, effective December 1, 1998 and February 1, 1999; and D. Squamish Gas adopts the same rate changes for its oil-based natural gas rates as those approved for Centra Gas; and . . ./2
2 E. The Commission has reviewed the Squamish Gas applications and finds that approval is required. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for Squamish Gas its December 23, 1998 and January 26, 1999 applications to increase its ACR-1 rates effective December 1, 1998, and decrease its ACR-1 rates effective February 1, 1999. 2. Squamish Gas is to inform all ACR-1 customers of the December 1, 1998 and February 1, 1999 rate changes by way of a customer notice included in the next billing.
