Ostergaard, Chair ) P.G. Bradley, Commissioner ) May 20, 1999 K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On May 5, 1999, Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. (“Centra Gas”) applied to the Commission for approval to increase rates to all Pioneer class customers effective June 1, 1999, pursuant to the Special Direction and the terms of the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline Act; and B. As a result of higher competitive fuel oil prices in its service area, the oil-based natural gas rates to Centra Gas customers are proposed to increase between 4.68 and 4.81 percent for Pioneer General Service customers and between 15.76 and 17.20 percent for Apartment Customer Rates (“ACR-1”) effective June 1, 1999; and C. The requested rate increases for ACR-1 customers are in accordance with the ACR-1 rate change methodology established by Commission Order No. G-10-99; and D. The Commission has reviewed Centra Gas May 5, 1999 application and finds that an increase in rates to ACR-1 and Pioneer General Service customers should be approved. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves the following for Centra Gas: 1. An increase in rates, effective June 1, 1999, to Pioneer General Service customers of between 4.68 and 4.81 percent and to ACR-1 customers of between 15.76 and 17.20 percent. …/2

Centra Gas is to advise all affected customers of the increased rates with the following notice: Until December 31, 2001 your natural gas rate is set by a mechanism which follows changes in the local market price of fuel oil, less a 10 percent discount. The B.C.
