Ostergaard, Chair ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chair ) February 4, 1999 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On October 2, 1998, the Commission issued Commission Order No. G-89-98 in which it directed British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“B.C. Hydro”) to file a Transmission Extension Policy by November 30, 1998, which was later extended to December 7, 1998; and B. On December 7, 1998, B.C. Hydro filed the Transmission Extension Policy; and C. On December 11, 1998, the Commission issued Order No. G-112-98 directing Commission staff to hold a Workshop on January 27, 1999, at which time B.C. Hydro's proposed Transmission Extension Policy would be discussed; and D. The Workshop was held as directed and attended by representatives from the Utility, Commission staff, Customer groups, and alternate Energy Suppliers and Marketers; and E. On February 3, 1999, B.C. Hydro requested Commission approval to withdraw the Transmission Extension Policy, advising of a general lack of support for the proposed Policy as evidenced by the comments made by a variety of parties at the Workshop. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for B.C. Hydro its request to withdraw the Transmission Extension Policy Application.
