Clemenhagen, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On July 15, 1998, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (“the Ministry”) advised the Commission that the Ministry approved the Squamish Gas Co. Ltd. (“Squamish Gas”) application to extend natural gas service to the residents of Brackendale and Garibaldi Highlands (“the Extension”). The Ministrys approval required that customers served on the Extension be charged oil-based rates with a rate floor; and B. By Letter No. L-42-98, dated July 16, 1998, the Commission advised Squamish Gas of the Ministrys approval of the Extension, and requested that Squamish Gas confirm its acceptance of the rate floor and file new rate schedules for customers served on the Extension; and C. On June 3, 1999, Squamish Gas confirmed its acceptance of the rate floor; and D. On July 6, 1999, Squamish Gas applied to amend its natural gas tariff, effective June 1, 1999, to show that its current oil-based natural gas rate schedules are not available to customers served on the Extension. The application also set up new oil-based natural gas rate schedules that included the required rate floor, effective June 1, 1999, for customers served on the Extension; and E. The Commission has reviewed the Squamish Gas application and finds that approval is required. …/2
2 NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves the Squamish Gas application to amend its natural gas tariff effective June 1, 1999 to show that its current oil-based natural gas rate schedules are not available to customers served on the Extension. 2. The Commission approves the Squamish Gas application to set up new oil-based natural gas rate schedules, including a rate floor, effective June 1, 1999 for customers served on the Extension.
