Ostergaard, Chair ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chair ) P.G. Bradley, Commissioner ) May 4, 2000 K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On April 20, 2000, Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. (“Centra Gas”) applied to the Commission for approval to increase the charges to customers for (i) the Reconnection Fee during regular business hours, (ii) the Reactivation of Service for Seasonal Consumers and (iii) to add a Reconnection Fee for after-hour reconnections, pursuant to Sections 60 and 61 of the Utilities Commission Act, effective May 1, 2000; and B. The increased fees for service reconnections are to recover the Utility’s actual costs incurred for performing such services. The reactivation charge for seasonal use customers is intended to recover the sum of the monthly fixed charges that would otherwise have been paid by the customer during the expected six months of disconnection; and C. The Commission has reviewed the application and finds that it should be approved. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for Centra Gas its application to increase the reconnection and reactivation fees charged to customers, effective May 1, 2000, as follows: - for reconnections during regular business hours the fee will increase from $25 to $55; - for reconnections made after hours the fee will increase from $25 to $145; and - for seasonal use customers the reactivation fee will increase from $25 to $80 per occurrence.
