Ostergaard, Chair ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) February 3, 2000 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On January 25, 2000, Princeton Light and Power Company, Limited (“PLP”) applied to the Commission to increase energy rates to all customers as a result of increased power purchase costs from its supplier, West Kootenay Power Ltd. (“WKP”), effective January 1, 2000, pursuant to Section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act (“the Act”); and B. The Commission approved a general rate increase of 4.9 percent for WKP effective January 1, 2000. The increase to Rate Schedules 40 and 42 Wholesale Service customers will amount to 4.47 percent and 4.9 percent for irrigation customers, which is the result of a cost of service shift from certain rate schedule classes, effective January 1, 2000; and C. PLP has applied the pass-through of the increased power purchase costs to the energy component of all customer rate schedules of 4.47 percent effective January 1, 2000, except for its irrigation tariff for which a pass-through of 4.9 percent is applied; and D. The Commission has reviewed the PLP application and finds that it is required to be approved. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 61(4) of the Act, the Commission approves for PLP, effective January 1, 2000, an increase of 4.9 percent to irrigation service, Rate Schedule GX (Irrigation) customers, and 4.47 percent to all other PLP customers. 2. PLP is to provide customers with information on the increased rates resulting from the pass-through.
