Nicholls, Commissioner ) CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY WHEREAS: A. On July 25, 2000, pursuant to Section 45 of the Utilities Commission Act (“the Act”), Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. (“Centra Gas”) applied to the Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (“CPCN”) for approval to replace its natural gas transmission line at Tsolum River near Comox, B.C.; and B. The project will replace the existing transmission line at Tsolum River as the existing pipeline has been exposed due to river and soil erosion. The project will involve a directionally drilled river crossing at an estimated cost of $700,000 with the work to be completed by September 8, 2000; and C. The Commission has reviewed the costs, timing, and justification for the project and finds that it should be approved. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for Centra Gas, pursuant to Section 45 of the Act, the issuance of a CPCN for the construction and operation of a replacement natural gas transmission line at Tsolum River, at an estimated cost of $700,000, as set out in Centra Gas’ July 25, 2000 application. 2. Centra Gas is to file with the Commission a final report, including a comparison of actual and estimated costs, upon completion of the project.
