V2R 2R5 Dear Mr. Unger: Re: British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“B.C. Hydro”) _________Complaint by Brodel Group of Companies_________ Further to your complaint concerning B.C. Hydro’s extension charges, enclosed is a copy of B.C. Hydro’s January 21, 2000 response. The Utility has provided the Commission with answers to the questions asked in our December 21, 1999 information request. Staff have reviewed the response and advise that B.C. Hydro is following its approved policies and Electric Tariff concerning extensions and the costing principles therein. The differing treatments of strata developments and fee-simple developments is reasonable and reflects differences in the costs and benefits associated with extensions with the two types of developments. The differences in the strata and fee-simple calculations are outlined on the bottom of each page of the analyses. Since the extension charges are in accordance with B.C. Hydro’s filed Electric Tariff, the Commission has dismissed your complaint. Yours truly, Original signed by: Robert J.
