Ostergaard, Chair ) P.G. Bradley, Commissioner ) July 25, 2001 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On June 26, 2001, the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre (“BCPIAC”) applied for a participant assistance cost award on behalf of the Consumers’ Association of Canada (B.C. Branch) et al. for participating in proceedings concerning British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority’s (“B.C. Hydro”) Application for Approval of Bypass Guidelines for Independent Power Producers Seeking Access to B.C. Hydro’s Transmission Service through B.C. Hydro’s Distribution System (the “Application”); and B. The Commission has determined that BCPIAC’s participation in the proceedings warrants reimbursement in accordance with the Commission’s guidelines; and C. The Commission has reviewed the application with regard to the criteria and rates set out in Commission Order No. G-23-01; and D. The Commission has determined that it will reimburse BCPIAC for consultant’s costs at the rate of $150/hour. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 118(1) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission awards funds to BCPIAC in the amount of $14,275.94 for its participation in the proceedings related to B.C. Hydro’s Application. 2. B.C. Hydro is directed to reimburse BCPIAC for the total amount awarded in a timely fashion.
