Ostergaard, Chair ) P.G. Bradley, Commissioner ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) December 19, 2001 N.F. Nicholls, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. In an Application dated December 14, 2001, BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) – Fort Nelson Division applied to the Commission to flow-through a reduction in the Gas Cost Recovery Charge of $0.375/GJ. This would decrease Fort Nelson customer rates to account for the gas purchase cost changes resulting from lower gas supply costs for the calendar year beginning January 1, 2002. The $0.375/GJ decrease represents a 6.2 to 6.4 percent reduction in rates depending on the customer rate class; and B. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that approval of a January 1, 2002 rate decrease to BC Gas - Fort Nelson Division customers is required. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for BC Gas - Fort Nelson Division a reduction in customer rates of $0.375/GJ, effective January 1, 2002. 2. BC Gas is to file quarterly reports on the Gas Cost Reconciliation Account balances and expected gas costs and revenues for the Fort Nelson Division in accordance with guidelines outlined in Commission Letter No. L-5-01. 3. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing, amended Gas Tariff Rate Schedules in accordance with the terms of this Order. 4.
