Commission Order No. G-65-01 approved for British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“B.C. Hydro”) Rate Schedule 1854 – Power Smart Industrial Rate as a pilot program effective July 1, 2001 to July 31, 2002. Order No. G-65-01 also approved Tariff Supplement No. 59, the Power Smart Industrial Rate Pilot Program Agreement; and B. Rate Schedule 1854 states that the Customer Baseline Load (“CBL”), as set out in Tariff Supplement No. 59, contains three items that are determined in general by averaging the customer’s electricity use history over the most recent three years; and C. On July 11, 2001, B.C. Hydro, on behalf of two qualifying Rate Schedule 1854 customers, applied to the Commission for approval to adjust the CBL calculations for Quesnel River Pulp (“QRP”) to use its most recent 12-month electricity consumption from June 2000 as the time period which best represents its normal future operations, and for Sterling Pulp Chemicals Ltd. (“Sterling”) to use its most recent 16-month electricity consumption from January 2000 when Sterling resumed full operation of its sodium chlorate operations in North Vancouver, B.C.; and D. QRP and Sterling provided independent demand and energy information to verify the CBL adjustments requested; and . . ./2
2 E. The Commission has reviewed the B.C. Hydro applications and finds that approval is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for B.C. Hydro the adjusted CBL calculations for QRP and Sterling under Rate Schedule 1854 and Tariff Supplement No. 59, as filed on July 11, 2001.
