Ostergaard, Chair ) B.L. Clemenhagen, Commissioner ) July 30, 2001 O R D E R WHEREAS: A. Commission Order No. G-65-01 approved for British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“B.C. Hydro”) Rate Schedule 1854 Power Smart Industrial Rate as a pilot program effective July 1, 2001 to July 31, 2002. Order No. G-65-01 also approved Tariff Supplement No. 59, the Power Smart Industrial Rate Pilot Program Agreement; and B. Rate Schedule 1854 states that the Customer Baseline Load (“CBL”), as set out in Tariff Supplement No. 59, contains three items that are determined in general by averaging the customers electricity use history over the most recent three years; and C. On July 25, 2001, B.C. Hydro, on behalf of BC Chemicals Ltd. (“BC Chemicals”), applied to the Commission for approval to determine BC Chemicals CBL based on its electricity use over a 31-month period from September 1998 to March 2001. B.C. Hydro also proposed to adjust BC Chemicals consumption in January 2000 to remove the impact of an abnormal shutdown; and D. BC Chemicals provided independent demand and energy information to verify the CBL adjustments requested; and E. The Commission has reviewed the B.C. Hydro application and finds that approval is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for B.C. Hydro the adjusted CBL calculations for BC Chemicals under Rate Schedule 1854 and Tariff Supplement No. 59, as filed in Table 2 of B.C. Hydros letter dated July 25, 2001.
