Ostergaard, Chair ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) January 10, 2002 N.F. Nicholls, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On August 9, 2001 the Commission, by Order No. E-7-01, accepted for Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. (“Centra Gas”) a seasonal natural gas supply contract for the 2001/02 gas contract year being a Letter Agreement with Enron Canada Corp. (“Enron Canada”) for the supply of 9,495 GJ/day from December 1, 2001 to February 28, 2002. The Enron Canada Agreement was automatically terminated on December 13, 2001 by notice given by Centra Gas due to the bankruptcy of Enron Canada or its guarantor Enron Corporation; and B. Centra Gas chose to replace only 5,275 GJ/day of the previously agreed to volumes with Enron Canada. The Vancouver Island Gas Joint Venture advised Centra Gas in October 2001 that it would not proceed in reducing the maximum daily curtailment from 18,800 GJ/day to 14,578 GJ/day under its Peaking Gas Management Agreement; and C. On December 20, 2001, Centra Gas filed with the Commission Confirmation of Gas Sales Agreements with IGI Resources Inc. (“IGI Resources”) for 5,275 GJ/day of seasonal gas supplies for the 2001/02 gas contract year; and D. The IGI Resources Agreements provide for the delivery of 5,275 GJ/day of natural gas at Westcoast Energy Inc.’s Huntingdon, B.C. transfer location for the period December 13, 2001 to February 28, 2002; and E. The Commission has reviewed the Confirmation of Gas Sales Agreements and is satisfied that the seasonal contracts are necessary and in the public interest. . . . /2
2 NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Rules for Energy Supply Contracts, the Commission accepts for filing for Centra Gas the December 12, 2001 Confirmation of Gas Sales Agreements with IGI Resources for the supply of 5,275 GJ/day of seasonal gas for the period December 13, 2001 to February 28, 2002. The Commission accepts Centra Gas request to maintain the gas pricing information and contract documents with IGI Resources as confidential.
